Bell Boeing will produce 58 CMV / MV / CV-22B tiltrotors for the US Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Japan government with a contract of $ 4 billion 191 million. With this contract, 39 CMV-22B for the US Navy, 14 MV-22B for the Air Corps, 1 CV-22B for the Air Force and 4 MV-22B for the Japanese Government will be produced. In-project deliveries are planned to last up to 2024.
The U.S. Navy will use its new CMV-22B for transporting personnel and cargo from shore to aircraft carriers, eventually replacing the C-2 Greyhound, which has been in service since the mid-1960s.
